The Imran Rehabilitation Centre

The Imran Rehabilitation Centre (IRC) is a school in Karachi, Pakistan for children suffering from cerebral palsy and other forms of learning impairments. The IRC gives children who are unable to learn in typical educational institutions an opportunity to simultaneously gain both a quality education and receive learning support. I implemented my course at the IRC to ensure that the children had access to opportunities in computer science and technology, regardless of their medical backgrounds. The course was tailored to fit the needs of the children at the IRC, to ensure that all students who were physically able to use a computer could access and understand the course.
At the IRC, I conducted teacher training sessions (pictured above) and met many of the students. I explained the different ways that they could use the knowledge and information that they learn from my course in the future and described the opportunities available to them. My course is currently being implemented in the school and is being taught to all the children who are physically capable of using a computer.
